Cozy Home Scenes: Summer Entertaining With Pinckney Cookies

Since we are all busy in the summer spending time with friends and family, make entertaining and gift giving easier with cookies. I recommend my new favorite cookies from Pinckney Cookie Cafe.

Whether you need a hostess gift to give to your friend hosting a barbecue, or you need a simple birthday, a Father's Day gift, or?summer graduation gift, it's easy to turn a simple box of cookies into an impressive gift.

Of course, cookies are also great to serve when entertaining?this summer. To save yourself from the heat of the kitchen, serve a platter of cookies or use them to whip up delicious ice cream desserts.

Gift Wrapping Cookies

Bring a box of cookies to the next BBQ or picnic you attend to give as a hostess gift. The hostess can serve them with the meal or save them to enjoy at home later. To make your hostess gift look festive, here is a way to dress up a box of cookies.

Wrap tulle and tissue paper around the cookie box, secure on top with a bow, then add a gift tag.

Entertaining With Cookies

Are you the one hosting a BBQ or Picnic this summer? If so, here is one of my favorite sundaes to serve your guests. It's loaded with chocolate and?is refreshing on a hot day. I like this sundae with traditional chocolate chip cookies, but have fun experimenting with different flavors of cookies and ice cream for your favorite combination!

The Chocolate Chipper Sundae

Chocolate ice cream

Hot fudge sauce

Mini chocolate chips

Whipped Cream

1. Heat jar of hot fudge sauce according to package instructions and gather all ingredients.

2. Place a whole cookie or half of a cookie on opposite sides of a bowl or plate.

3. Add a scoop of chocolate and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

4. Top with hot fudge sauce.

5. Sprinkle with mini chocolate chips, then finish off with whipped cream and a cherry.

Pinckney Cookie Cafe

Cookies are a great summer time dessert because you don't have to bake. Not all cookies are worthy of serving to guests, but my new favorite cookies from Pinckney Cookie Cafe make wonderful treats for entertaining or gift giving.
These are moist, soft cookies made with all natural ingredients, zero preservatives and gourmet chocolates. There are four great flavors to choose from: The Pinckney Original, Dark Chocolate Oatmeal, Bing Bling!, and Classic Chocolate Chip. My family tried all four flavors, and it was unanimous. These were the best cookies we've ever had. We loved the coconut flavor in the cookies and how each cookie was packed with goodies in every bite. None of us are fans of those overly sweet cookies that are so full of sugar you don't taste the flavors. That is not the case with these wonderful cookies. They were definitely sweet, but not overpowering. If you'd like to try these cookies, find them at Whole Foods in the Seattle area. The rest of us can buy them at Pinckney's online shop. Learn more about them on twitter or facebook.
